Welcome![edit]
Hiya AldmeriDominion! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's great when we get new members. Just thought I'd send you a welcome with some helpful info. Check out the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Help Contents: a list of in-depth Help pages
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at the Userboxes page: a near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to making your own.
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~ (do not sign edits to articles). Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun!

Muridon[edit]
The name of the island was basically unknown until ESO information, therefore that takes priority. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:04, 2 July 2013 (GMT)
- Well I disagree that the name of the island was unknown, there were enough hints to suggest the name of the island since TES II: Daggerfall, but now that Zenimax have decided to rename it I guess Auridon takes priority then.AldmeriDominion (talk) 22:15, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

- The book is literally the only thing on the site that mentions Moridunon, and it isn't exactly clear on what Moridunon is (for all it says, it could be another island). Note also that Artaeum moves around, so it doesn't help its cause as a reliable source. Once Online is out things will be a lot clearer. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:28, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

- False. 'On Artaeum' mentions the "Moridunon village of Potansa" where "the kings of Sumurset, particularly those of Moridunon, have often sought the Psijics' opinion". Kings (or Queens) only exist in each of the cities of Summerset, therefore it could only be one of the two large islands. 'Galerion the Mystic' mentions the "village of Potansa on the far eastern end of Summurset". So from that info (in two lore books from a game published in 1996) we know Moridunon has to be the large island on the east of Summerset (and there are no other islands on the far east either). Also, 'Origin of the Mages Guild' mentions that the King of Firsthold met with a Psijic, which further confirms the info from 'On Artaeum' that the island is indeed Moridunon. If you're willing to do some research it becomes very clear that Moridunon is the large island on the east of Summerset. Since ESO is ignoring established lore on Altmer architetcure I imagine it will actually make things even more confusing, not clearer. AldmeriDominion (talk) 22:47, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

- It does not state this. Look at your language "it could only be..." and "has to be..." are opinions. I didn't look for the village names, only the name of the Island as that is what is in question; the word Muridunon is only mentioned on one article that is neither mod related or takes its info from the book. Also notice that Artaeum isn't even on the map on the page. Nothing you have mentioned makes a concrete link between the name Moridunon and the second largest island of the Summerset Isles. You may want to continue this on the lore pages talk page, where the name has also come under question. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:58, 2 July 2013 (GMT)
- We're most definitely off-track here. My only issue was that the name Auridon takes priority. I left the redirect for Muridunon so you see I do agree that it is very likely to be one and the same. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 23:04, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

- Fair enough, although I'll explain it on the lore talk page also since we're getting off-track here AldmeriDominion (talk) 23:23, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

Advice[edit]
Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! Sumerset Isle[edit]
Please re-associate yourself with how this wiki operates before attempting to make it more like wikia again. We do not require references in gamespace as every edit is checked, unlike wikia apparently. Everything on the page is based on released information and known lore concerning the time period, you may wish to read out lore pages which are properly sourced before attempting to remove info on a page that is fully based on actual information. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 15:29, 9 December 2013 (GMT)
- It's not known lore if it's false. There's nothing to back up the stuff about Altmer scholars choosing Elden Root or Sumemrset being off-limits. AldmeriDominion (talk) 15:32, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

- I was trying to find references but why bother if you don't have the patience to wait. I made the page and I stake my entire wiki-profile behind every bit of info I put on it. Stop edit warring and I might be able to find references to sate your ego in peace. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 15:44, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

- Well it wouldn't hurt if tried being less snide in all of your messages, plus try toning down your contempt for the TES Wikia while you're at it. It's great that you're willing to look for references now, although it's not about my ego, I just don't like it when people spread false information as fact then get defensive when someone tries to do something about it. Thanks for going out of your way to look for references though, assuming you won't just give up and revert my edits regardless. AldmeriDominion (talk) 15:55, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

- There are three main contentious parts:
- "The Altmer's dislike of foreign visitors can be fully observed by noting that the entire main island is off-limits to visitors at the current time." Lore backs the dislike part while it's been confirmed that the main island is off-limits. An actual lore-based reason explaining a game-play feature, which would be mostly true even if the island were visitable. I can see why you wanted to remove it (thats a joke because there is no reason to disagree with something integral to the history of the Altmer).
- "Alinor" A complete mystery why you insist on removing it. Surely I don't need a reason to include the capitol of Summerset Isle, its not saying it will appear, nor is it even trying to hint at it. A quick check of wikia to understand this decision on your part shows a very susceptible assumption (it won't appear), one that wouldn't be placed here. This again shows why wikia is integral to this disagreement.
- "in an effort to exploit them to the Dominion's, and ultimately the Altmer's, benefit." This one I'm struggling to find a reference for. It may be from talking with another editor who went to PAX east and got some further information. But again, I wouldn't have added it if it had no basis whatsoever. Unfortunately if I cannot back it up then it could be removed, but I would ask you to wait until I can talk to that editor so they can back it up.
- My problem is your edits are extremely wikia like, adding references to supposed disputed sentences to avoid future arguments. Any gamespace pages with references will eventually have them filtered out, adding them if they aren't there is simply not appropriate, it is the opposite that should be happening. It also stems from having problems that occurred due to you operating on both wikis before. I won't apologise for my so-called "snideness" as you have shown no signs of trying to come to an agreement, instead reinserting the same flawed edit again and again, even ignoring your own redundancy and grammar errors. I also can't and won't change my attitude to a site that, despite efforts on some parts, doesn't do anything near enough to prevent plagiarism and theft of images.
