Avatar/Location Images[edit]

I'm concerned we don't have all of these raw files uploaded. Is there an extraction dump available to download so this task can be progressed? It would be invaluable to have these uploaded to the wiki; we can worry about placing them on the correct articles after the fact. —Legoless (talk) 13:20, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

All clockwork city locations and avatars are already uploaded, they just need to be added to their respective pages. I have several backups of the other images, so we are certainly not losing them, even if they shutdown tomorrow. I'll have a look somewhere this week to upload the Isle of Madness locations and avatars. --Ilaro (talk) 13:54, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Is this page out of date?[edit]

Does it make sense to replace the task with "Premium cards from new client" with a separate Art? And do there need to be some kind of a counter for the work done/doing or something like that?

There are also other things like "The Elder Scrolls: Legends China", which is not mentioned here, even though I have a full archive of its asets I can also help with booster pack assets and collecting concept art, I used to do that somehow.

Also, if I understand correctly, the Card Effects section refers to these unique status names that one card gets from other/itself buff? They're all in the basic text file, and it seems like they can even be separated right there, but I'm not sure how.

As for the advice on quests, it can make sense, cause in some cases it is a fairly easy way to get a title that in the general game can be quite difficult to get, and some of them can be completed with 1 card, or the easiest combination.

This project page is open for anyone to edit. Go ahead and update it to make more sense if any of the goals are out-of-date. I added the line about Legends Asia, which would be the bigger priority in my opinion given it was actually released as a game. That said, we have almost zero information about the cancelled Chinese version so it would definitely be a good thing to capture within the scope of this project. I think it would be great to upload the censored Chinese card assets and create even a basic page summarising the game, similar to what we have on General:Canceled Games. —Legoless (talk) 14:24, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
I've written in favor of some things, but I'm not sure how some things should and should not be done, and especially how they should be coordinated/approved. And I think the page is very overloaded and difficult to navigate so I hope I haven't disturbed the basic structure –Maxandkon 14:59, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Audio[edit]

Looking around our Legends pages, we have relatively limited coverage of the game's audio (really only the voiced card lines). I was wondering... do we have access to some/all of this data? If so, what makes sense to include on UESP? For example, something like Wes' lines in the Arena modes would seem like a neat addition to those articles. But, for preservation purposes, would we want article(s) to document simple menu and gameplay sound effects? There's all the story dialogue/cutscenes as well, although most people would probably head to YouTube, etc. for that stuff. From a licensing standpoint, how much of any/all of this are we allowed to put on the wiki? Not sure how all that changes when the game won't exist (i.e. "Steal from folks who ain't usin' it! That's the key!"). Just some thoughts that came to mind recently; do with them what you will! May you walk on warm sands. Forfeit (talk)

The concern with hosting all game audio wholesale on the wiki is that we would fall foul of fair use (more specifically the fair dealing clause of Canadian copyright law). That said, Legends will soon be unplayable abandonware, so perhaps we should consider something like this for archival purposes. —Legoless (talk) 10:16, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
I do have the files that list where all card audio used, which include all the non-voiced audio such as dying grunts and mechanical sounds for cards like animals and dwemer. This means that we won't lose any of it when the servers go down and can still add the correct sounds to each card years later if necessary. Audio for stories can easily be discerned by ear. I've all the music lined up in a google folder if anyone is interested to upload them to the UESP youtube account. --Ilaro (talk) 21:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
Got it, appreciate the input from you both! Sounds like we're in good shape with the data and can figure out what makes sense to document as time progresses and folks take an interest in making those additions. Forfeit (talk) 01:18, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
