"This scholarly organization mainly researches traces of previous Tamrielic civilizations. They are chartered by the Emperor to investigate Dwemer remnants in the east (and are infiltrated by the Blades for this reason). Within Cyrodiil, the Society is mainly interested in Ayleid ruins." - Tamriel Rebuilt
The Imperial Archaeological Society is an organisation of individuals interested in collecting pieces of Tamriel's history, for study and display. In Morrowind, their members are frequently found around Dwemer ruins. This most notably includes Kemel-Ze, but also Manrizache and Chunzefk. The Society itself is wealthy enough to afford a galleon of their own (The Northern Wind), and seems to receive its income from the Emperor, with additional funding also possibly coming from sales to the East Empire Company, which maintains monopoly rights on the trade in Dwemer artifacts.
The society maintains a small number of halls in the Imperial colonies of the province, with one at Old Ebonheart and the other in Helnim. Decimia Gastoit is the Dean of the Old Ebonheart society.
Joining the Imperial Archaeological Society[edit]
It is not currently possible to join the Imperial Archaeological Society, although questlines are planned for a future release - one involving the extensive ruins of Kemel-Ze, and another taking place in the lands of Great House Redoran.
