Tamriel Data talk:Creatures
Classification[edit]
This is something of an open question - how many pages (Daedra, Dwemer Centurions, etc) should be listed under Tamriel Data:Creatures?
Tamriel Data adds a large number of creatures. I previously tried to break them down into different types (hence Ayleid, Beasts, Birds, Daedra) etc, but never managed a neat solution where every creature fitted one type, but not another. For example, where do Alfiq stand? They're currently under Beasts, but they're largely going to be encountered as intelligent NPCs. But if a Sapient Creatures page were created to hold Alfiq, suddenly that raises questions about whether Dreugh/Lamia/Goblins/Minotaurs ought to be included.
The Construction Set lists only four Creature types - Creature, Undead, Humanoid and Daedra. So an alternative approach might be to have just four pages with those names. But that would result in a very long Creatures page, including everything from several species of fish and songbird, to insects and livestock, goblinoids and kwama.
This matters to me mainly as pages for individual Creatures (e.g. Uridimmu) require a creature type to be specified, and I'm not sure if that Type should match its Type as listed in the Construction Set (my preference) or the Type as indicated by the UESP page it sits on. - Jinks (talk) 13:28, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
"Humanoids — Creatures that walk upright on two legs" includes Tsaesci[edit]
I think either that description or Tsaesci's location needs a change. --Agiletek (talk) 02:38, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
