Thugs

I just got attacked by some thugs at the Riften Stables who had a contract from Ungrien. Not sure if stealing Haelga's statue with him in the room triggered it or what. The letter says "here is the agreed upon amount. I expect you to faithfully carry out my request to teach a lesson to the thief "My NAME." You need not kill him, but I have no qualms about it if you deem it necessary. -- Ungrien" --Tiger8u2 02:17, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

He is part of the 'HaelgasBunkhouseFaction', if you steal from a location the thugs can be triggered by anyone asscoiated with that location.--The Silencer 16:10, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Level Requirement?

I'm trying to utilize the Speech leveling glitch involving Ungrien's dialogue. However, the Persuasion attempts are unsuccessful- are there any prerequisites or level requirements that must be fulfilled in order to persuade effectively each time? 98.226.245.61 07:28, 2 December 2012 (GMT)

An easy way to make it always work is to give a coin to one of the beggars in the Riften marketplace, it gives you The Gift of Charity blessing for +10 Speech. --97.97.190.53 08:31, 19 January 2013 (GMT)

Disappearance

This has really piqued my interest. He always disappears on me too, but he's only involved in dialogue quests, as far as I can tell. It's weird - I can't find any explanation for it. Vicano (talk) 15:45, 30 January 2015 (GMT)

I would've thought that it could be intentional, for when you've persuaded him to talk honestly about the Black-Briars (and they find out), but he's not used in any quests other than scenes (I would suspect he'd be an alias for a TG quest were he to be disabled). Ungrien, a merchant?

The merchant screen lists Ungrien as a merchant. Yet, I don't recall ever seeing him with a merchant sales screen option. Does he gain a merchant screen as the result of a quest line or something?
