Viewing Disposition In-game?[edit]

Is there a way to see the disposition in skyrim? --Irian 22:05, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Maybe with a console command, otherwise you can tell how much someone likes you simply by their dialogue toward you. — Unsigned comment by 71.17.161.27 (talk) on 22 November 2011
PC players can use the console command getrelationshiprank player to check an NPC's disposition. --Silmina 16:09, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Page Name[edit]

Is the name "Disposition" used anywhere, or would "Relationship Rank" be a better name. That is the name used by the console. --Alfwyn (talk) 10:34, 18 September 2012 (GMT)

The only place I've seen it used is on this page and in links to this page. — ABCface 21:45, 18 September 2012 (GMT)
The wording is probably a holdover from the Oblivion concept. Poking around the CK, I found only one reference to Disposition (a global called FavorJarlDispositionThreshold), and it appears to be unused. Robin Hoodtalk 21:58, 18 September 2012 (GMT)
NPCs have a value called "Disposition Base" in the CK. It usually is 35 or 0. CKWiki thinks that value isn't used however. --Alfwyn (talk) 14:10, 17 December 2012 (GMT)

Friendly Disposition Affecting Quests[edit]

I have a problem where everyone is suddenly friendly and making friendly comments, also making it impossible to do "favour" quests such as brawling with Uthgerd the Unbroken. I can't freely take items though, so it's really confusing me. Can anyone help? I've disabled new mods I thought may have had a hand in it, but that doesn't work. 84.24.136.22 20:35, 28 July 2013 (GMT)

I would suggest loading a clean save with no mods whatsoever, then trying a few favor quests to make sure you can get them. More than likely, it is because of mods. Sometimes mods can have unintended effects-- even if it seems like a mod doesn't affect certain things, it may. Also, when you disable mods but go back to a game you had saved with them enabled before, the problem isn't always fixed. You'd have to load a save from before the mods were ever enabled to be sure the save isn't affected. — ABCface 00:50, 29 July 2013 (GMT)

Greetings showing full disposition[edit]

I've noticed that each "voicetype" has a unique line that they say when greeting the player which seems to imply full disposition. Here are the ones I've noticed:

"Male Nord" voicetype (Alvor, Ralof etc): "May the Gods watch over your battles, friend."
"Female Nord" voicetype (Gerdur, Mjoll the Lioness etc): "Fine greetings, friend. May you die with a sword in your hand."
"Male Young Eager" voicetype (Sven, Erik the Slayer etc): "Good day friend. Keeping well?"
"Female Young Eager" voicetype (Camilla Valerius, Ysolda etc): "It's a fine day with you around."
"Male Sly Cynical" voicetype (Lucan Valerius, Belethor etc): "You and me, we're the only people around who aren't complete fools."
"Male Brute" voicetype (Farkas, Maul etc): "You've been a good friend to me. That means something."
"Female Commander" voicetype (Adrianne Avenicci, Aela the Huntress etc): "You're someone who can get things done. I like that."
"Male Coward" voicetype (Proventus Avenicci, Noster Eagle-eye etc): "Gods bless you. May the ground you walk quake as you pass."
"Male Eventoned" voicetype (Faendal, Amren etc): "Divines smile on you, friend."

I don't know if this is of use to anyone, but, well, there it is. Norowane (talk) 07:52, 20 August 2013 (GMT)

Thanks for the info! If you're interested in this sort of thing, you might want to take a look at this sandbox, a project to document all non-unique dialogue in the game. All editors are invited to help out, so feel free to do so, either by editing the page yourself or contributing to the talk page there. :) — ABCface 16:35, 20 August 2013 (GMT)

Relationship Rank set in "random" dialogue[edit]

There seem to be two dozen or so changes of the relationship rank in normal dialogue. For example here in the script of the first topic. No idea how to document that. --Alfwyn (talk) 01:38, 27 January 2014 (GMT)

Maybe just in the Notes section on the relevant NPC/faction/whatever's page? Robin Hood  (talk) 02:52, 27 January 2014 (GMT)

Friendly Disposition/Dialogue Problem[edit]

I was attempting to get an npc to be my follower through console commands, and I suspect I may have done something to set everyone as friendly to me. Everyone certainly seems to be making comments to that effect.

First of all, is there a console command that would do this? And second, is there a way I could undo it?

Thanks in advance.

First time dialogue affect disposition[edit]

Some NPC liking you (the player) or not can be decided right from the first time you talk to them. Like Suvaris of Windhelm talks to you after she talks to the two Nords when you first visit Windhelm, if only you stick around until the conversation ends. If you pick the right dialogue option, she will like you and becomes your friend. Later on the quest Rise in the East asking you to steal her journal, you can lockpick the door (If she is not there) without considered trespassing.

Other NPCs having similar effect include Brunwulf Free-Winter and Mjoll the Lioness (agree with her about Thieves Guild). Probably with Idalof Battle-Born and Thongvor Silver-Blood too (I never know for sure as I always pick the neutral option when it comes to politics).

With Maul of Riften he will initialize conversation when you first visit Riften. If you intimidate him and fail, he will dislike you. If you talk with him some, he will remain neutral. If you just walk away without finishing the talk up to the point where you can ask him more things, like the unusual gems, it seems he will dislike you too. 115.134.184.108 16:16, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
