Online talk:Group Bosses
Proposed Rename: "Online:World Bosses"[edit]
This may be unnecessary considering we already have a redirect from Online:World Bosses to this page, but the term "World Boss" is used far more often by players and in-game sources than the term "group boss" is. "Group Boss" is only used in one article in the in-game help menu, while "World Boss" is used in 4. Moreover, almost every single Zone DLC and Chapter Achievement section uses "World Boss" instead of "Group Boss". This occurs in their world boss daily quest achievements, as well as some of the achievements for collecting daily world boss quest-related style motifs and "kill every world boss in X zone at least once" achievements. The only achievements that use the term "Group Boss" are Senchal's Savior, Heart of a Naga, and Monster Hunter of the Month.
While it doesn't particularly matter to me what the consensus on this is, I figured I'd throw it up into the air and see what people think. -MolagBallet (talk) 06:11, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- This rename made sense to me; however, the achievement wording was changed in Update 30 and the patch notes state that "Group Boss" is the proper term:
- Updated the wording of a number of older achievements to use the proper term "Group Boss" instead of the incorrect phrase "World Boss". --Oriwa Talk 23:59, 21 September 2021 (UTC)

- Those bosses are in certain zone and referred as group bosses. Although some players refer them as world bosses when not using the ingame term group bosses the more accurate term would be zone bosses as there are not from this or that world but on a certain zone. They are (mostly) in the world of Tamriel but on a very specific zone. Information sites like these has chance to promote more accurate or healthier player behavior. Changing to mainly use terms that are not used by the game itself takes this step away from being a infomartion site about the game and step towards a fan art. My vote is to use ingame terms and redirects for nicknames, as it is the best practice used in situations like these. Ek1 (talk) 13:07, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
