Explorer are Imperials who can be encountered in Blackwood. They can be seen teasing a Deathopper and getting swallowed by them, and can be rescued.

An encounter

As you approach to them, you can spot them teasing a deathopper.

Explorer: "Oh, hello there! What are you?"

Explorer: "Your teeth are big and scary, but you're so cute. Yes, you are. Yes, you are!"

Explorer: "Oh wow, look at you! You're so big!"

Explorer: "Do people eat you? Getting to be that big, they probably can't, huh?"

Explorer: "I've never seen something like you before. How do you eat with that mouth?"

The deathopper throws its tongue to them, catching and swallowing them whole.

Explorer: "Oh no-ahhhh mmmmmm! Mmmmm! M! plech."

Then you can hear their voice from inside the creature, yelling for help.

Explorer: "Mmmrph help! Merrrph."

Explorer: '"Anyone? Mmmffff it ate mmmmmmm!"

Explorer: "FFFFfphhhhlech. So gross!"

Once the deathopper is killed, the Explorer will emerge unharmed, though covered in green viscera:

Explorer: "It was good that you came to help me, I didn't want to be in there for any longer than I was."

Explorer: "Ugh, I smell like old socks that have been left in a bog. Thanks for the help, I'm going to wash up."

Explorer: "Definitely should have seen that coming. Thanks for the rescue. No idea how I woulda gotten out of there."
