Quest-Related Events[edit]
He will be one of the Elders who will listen to the news Audrine has to share about what caused the corruption in the grove. You can speak to him before you meet up with Audrine:
- "I've tended this grove for nearly fifty years, and the Evergrowth has never spoken to me.
Well, not directly, at any rate."
Once you get back to the elders, Audrine will reveal that the archdruid was corrupted by the Allwither. After telling the news to the elders, the Evergrowth will take over her body:
- Druid Audrine: "Elder Karic, we have troubling news concerning the archdruid."
- Elder Karic: "Slow down, Audrine. Tell us what happened."
- Druid Audrine: "The Evergrowth confirmed she performed the binding ritual, but she made a mistake. She released the Allwither."
- Elder Warrane: "The archdruid is responsible for the corruption? And she released the Allwither? The grove is doomed!"
<The Evergrowth takes over Audrine's body>
- The Evergrowth: "The Evergrowth is here and willing to help. In exchange for…certain considerations."
Speaking to him before speaking to the spirit. He will be a bit miffed at the spirit channeling through Audrine:
- "The spirit of the grove, communicating with us directly? And through an inexperienced druid instead of a seasoned elder such as myself? How insulting!
Well, don't keep the spirit waiting. Talk to it and see what it wants."
Before speaking to Audrine, he will urge you to hurry to the Undergrove to stop the Allwither:
- "Unbinding the bound nature spirit? If this doesn't work, we could be facing an all-consuming corruption or a total breakdown of the laws of nature. Y'ffre preserve us!
Well, go be a hero. You and Audrine both. We'll help as we can from up here."
After destroying the wards and heading back to the village, you can speak to him before the Evergrowth. He will still be jealous of Audrine being chosen as the conduit of the spirit and vows to work harder in communing with nature:
- "Again the spirit of the grove manifests, and again it decides to speak through Druid Audrine instead of me. I guess I need to commune more with nature. Get my circles back in alignment, as it were."
After completing the quest, Elder Karic and Elder Warrane (begrudgingly) will make Audrine a circle elder and mediator to the Evergrowth for her heroism. She is very happy of this promotion:
- Elder Karic: "In light of all that has happened, Audrine, We would like to make you a circle elder and mediator with the Evergrowth."
- Elder Warrane: "Druid Audrine? An Elder? And mediator to the—oh, very well."
- Druid Audrine: "An elder? And the mediator? I…I don't know what to say."
- Elder Karic: "I hope you'll say yes! You proved yourself and demonstrated a singular rapport with the spirit of the grove. Will you take on the responsibilities?"
- Druid Audrine: "I—yes, of course. Thank you!"
After the quest, he is still insisting on trying to get the spirit to choose him as a conduit:
- "I wonder if the Evergrowth will ever talk to me. I suppose I'll need to prove my worth. Maybe find a particularly pleasing tree to contemplate? Or a spectacular blade of grass?"
