Bernique Laffoon is a Breton beggar who can be found south of the Shadow stone in Rivenspire. She is the brother of Porthippe Laffoon in Shornhelm.

You'll come across Bernique crouched on the bridge south of The Shadow mundus stone:

"I never thought I'd get away from them! I've never run so fast in my life."

What happened?

"I'd heard about a cave to the west, where there are some catacombs, maybe some old money and treasures. But the Bitterhand Bandits have taken it over!
I barely escaped with my life!"

Where is this place?

"It's a bit of a way from here. It's called the Flyleaf Catacombs.
I can show it to you on your map so you know to stay away, but I'm going to keep running."

Why were you going there?

"My brother Porthippe Laffoon is a useless drunk. The family needs money, and he only spends it.
I figured I'd go adventuring and bring something back for us. What a horrible idea."
