Hidden jewelry box

Thanks, I did exactly that several times before I posted my question. I slowly skirt the beds looking for any visible sign of something but I always find nothing. I don't want to sound dumb but I've always had a problem finding things that are stated to be physically hidden. Can you give me a little more specific information? Murdering him for the Bravil Recommendation

It doesn't do any good to murder him when he makes that ridiculous demand of 200 gold and taking the basement key from his cold dead corpse. I haven't gotten anyone to mention it, and his wife doesn't seem to have noticed. I think the fact that he's dead makes all rumors tied to him not appear.
