Senie is a small kwama-mining town found in the Daen Seeth region of Stonefalls in Morrowind. Located south of the Indoril city of Davon's Watch, it is a historical town noted for its dangerous proximity to Ash Mountain.[1] Strifeswarm Kwama Mine is found northwest of town,[2] while further mines and the local shrine to Almsivi can be found to the southeast.[3][4] The Telvanni settlement of Bal Sunnar is located to the south.[5]

History[edit]
Senie was already an established town in the early First Era. The Chimer settled along the banks of a river that flowed through the area at that time.[6][7]
Prior to the founding of the Ebonheart Pact in 2E 572,[8] the Dunmer population of Senie owned a number of Argonian slaves. They were forced to tend to the kwama, harvest saltrice, and perform domestic service.[9] The founding of the Pact led to the emancipation of all Argonian slaves, leading to a tense situation in Senie between the distrustful local Dunmer and the freed Argonian inhabitants.[10] Several Nords also moved to the town around this time.[11]
Circa 2E 582, Ash Mountain began to rumble, threatening the town with annihilation. An Argonian veteran of the Ebonheart Pact named Walks-in-Ash sensed the coming eruption, and journeyed to Senie to warn the local lord, Spellwright Girvas. Girvas refused to heed her warning due to his distrust of Argonians, which stemmed from the death of his wife at the hands of escaping slaves a few years prior.[12][10][13] Ash Mountain subsequently erupted, destroying the town and injuring many of its residents. The streams where water had once flown were replaced by lava flows, and aggressive shalk invaded the ruins of Senie, threatening the surviving inhabitants.[1] A number of kwama fled the town's mines and scattered during the eruption, briefly imperilling egg mining operations before they were rounded up.[3]
A local Argonian named Soft-Scale attempted to tend to the severe burns of the survivors, but the Dunmer distrusted him as a former slave. With the aid of the Vestige, Soft-Scale was able to gather the necessary ingredients and tend to the injured. Together with Walks-in-Ash, the Vestige also helped rescue Lady Morvani from a shalk attack, thereby belatedly earning the trust of her father, Spellwright Girvas.[4]
That same year, a time breach opened at Senie due to a Psijic mage's meddling with the Staff of Towers. This breach was swiftly sealed by the Psijic Order.[14]
