"I must also warn you that outside these walls is a fearsome creature that has slaughtered any who fight it. It appears when you rest. Do not fight it, you are not ready. Run."
—Eustacia

The Gehenoth is a monstrous creature that was known to attack those who rested beyond the walls of Dawnstar circa 3E 427.[1][UOL 1] Its attacks are capable of afflicting people with Frost Limbs, a debilitating affliction that is especially harmful to spellcasters.[2]

As the Gehenoth Thriceborn, it fought alongside the forces of the Ice Tribes and allied creatures during their final assault on the town. Its defeat at the hands of the Hero of Dawnstar marked the end of the conflict.[3]

In appearance the creature is bipedal and covered in spikes and plating. It has piercing blue eyes that became red when Thriceborn.[2]

Notes[edit]

  • It is possible for the Hero of Dawnstar to kill the Gehenoth before it appears as the Gehenoth Thriceborn, with it potentially dropping a Keenblood Blade, a powerful longsword.[2] It is unknown if this means there are in-fact multiple Gehenoths or if it somehow can be revived.
  • The strongest warriors of Ice Tribes are also sometimes known as Thriceborn.[4] The relation (if any) this title has to the concept of reincarnation is unknown.
