Crypts are small, single-level dungeons occasionally found in the wilderness. Unlike the other random dungeons, each crypt has its fixed denizens (including such powerful undead as vampires and liches). Other than that, crypts are safe from random encounters unless you decide to take a rest.

Encounters[edit]
If several monsters are noted, they are spread throughout the interior.
- 1 to 9 Rats
- 1 to 4 Skeletons
- 1 to 4 Ghouls
- 1 to 3 Hell Hounds
- 1 to 3 Ghosts
- 1 to 3 Zombies
- 1 to 3 Wraiths
- a Vampire
- a Lich
Loot[edit]
- 1-100 gold
- 7.5% chance for a potion
- 40% chance for a weapon or an armor (equal chance to be at 25%, 75%, or 100% durability)
- 5% chance for a magic weapon or armor (no Paralyzation, Firestorm, Passwall, Invisibility, Spell Reflection and Regeneration effects possible)
