'Huge freakin page' is right! Will we be removing the buildings from the New Text column here, rather than editing individual quests? It might still be safer to do the individual edits, in case the building is not mentioned in the text. When will you be running this? I would hate to edit a quest and then have this put the building back in. --Brf 14:40, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

I was avoiding making changes like that in-bulk for exactly the reason you mentioned. Also because there may be cases where the specific location is critical to the quest, so mentioning it is important. Robin Hoodtalk 15:01, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Hmm?[edit]

So should we use a different wording for places with both interior and exterior cells? For example we could use an if else statement for it. For example:

  1. include <stdio.h>

int main(void) {

if"intcell"= 1 printf ("in PAGENAME") else printf (at PAGENAME)

}

(Well something like that anyway. I'm not yet familiar with C, so that doesn't work, but you get the idea.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 14:48, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

The "in" or "at" is already present in the New Text column. There would be no need to compute it. There are also special cases that you could not compute anyway. --Brf 14:57, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I'd typed out a reply, but it amounts to the same thing as Brf said. ;) Robin Hoodtalk 15:01, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Eh. That's not quite what I meant - I meant that when he was doing the bot coding he could do something like that and specify (Via a template perhaps?) all quests that take place in, say, Ashalmawia, as opposed to in the outside section of it, that they take place in an interior (after E/C) so that it would be easier than typing in the 960 entries separately.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:09, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Also what is it I'm doing wrong with this? It looks right...
The "in" or "at" is already computed and put into the New Text column. Why are you concerned with computing it again? It is already done... --Brf 15:24, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
For the bot' coding. It's easier to tell it to check for a template and put a message depending on whether or not it's there than write out what to say for 960 different pages, doing the text for each by hand.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:28, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
For the bot coding, it is easier to tell it to use the already-completed "New Text" column, than to have it compute a new text --Brf 15:43, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Wait... You mean that it uses this rather than this just showing the proposed changes don't you? I thought you meant the template... (Grumbles).--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:46, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, Brf's on the right track here. I'm just reading in the changes from a text file, then posting them to the page. The coding for that is already done, so it's just a matter of converting the page from wiki-text back to regular text before I run it. Robin Hoodtalk 15:50, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
He would not have said "Please feel free to edit the New Text column" if it was not the actual text that is going to be used. That way we can correct any that are obviously wrong before the update is done. --Brf 15:52, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Argh... This is what no sleep does to you. Never mind then. (Although I'd still like to know why it doesn't work right).--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:53, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Wolverine Hall ?[edit]

I noticed here, as well as the Wolverine Hall page, that "The" is prefixed. Why are we saying The Wolverine Hall when we do not say The Moonmoth Legion Fort, for instance? --Brf 15:31, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm thinking they thought it was this great big corridor full of X-Men? :D Seriously, though they probably thought that Wolverines were a creature shortly post/pre-release or that it was a hallway in someplace rather than a fort. (I.E The Wolverine Hall leads to the Mages Guild and connects to the Vorpal Hall.)--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
So do they actually say The Wolverine Hall in the game? I can't check from here at work. --Brf 15:41, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Err... I don't know. I don't think so. I meant all of us on the wiki, with "they" meaning the one to do that not Bethesda.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:44, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
If that is the case, we should take the "The" off the front. Both here in the New Text, and on the Wolverine Hall wiki page. --Brf 15:46, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
Once we confirm it, yes. The trouble is I no longer play MW so I'm not really reliable on this.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 15:52, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
I just checked a few random instances in the CS and none of them had the word "the", so we should remove it. Robin Hoodtalk 16:00, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

It changed[edit]

For the map location section, i see that you have me listed as before notes/bugs. However i have since changed my mind about that, so now it goes after them. Zones -> Notes -> Bugs -> Maps -> Gallery Lorenut (talk) 20:50, 22 October 2014 (GMT)
