Limited Use[edit]

I am glad that there is a template for the forums, but unfortunately this template will not work if trying to link to a specific topic within the forums. Unlike the wiki the forums use a single page to view all topics, changing only a few values in the url to tell the page which topics to show. For example If I wanted to see the Dragonborn DLC Discussion I would point my browser to http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=33598. The template seems to not be able to handle the extra variables after the page name, and I am not sure how to edit it so that it will. I would be willing to research and figure it out, but I didn't want to edit a pre-existing template without first letting you know what my intentions were. I would welcome any feedback. -- Musicman247 (talk) 00:42, 16 January 2013 (GMT)

It's the "=" that confuses the template. One way around is, is tu use a named parameter: {{forums|Dragonborn DLC Discussion|subpage=viewtopic.php?f=38&t=33598}}, resulting in: Dragonborn DLC Discussion. Of course one could add support for the common case of forum and thread numbers too in the template. --Alfwyn (talk) 19:35, 24 January 2013 (GMT)

In edit summaries.[edit]

It seems like this template sometimes work in the edit summaries, and then again, sometimes not. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:18, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
