Tamriel Rebuilt:Transport
This page is the Tamriel Rebuilt complement to this one. In addition to the guild guides, boats, and silt strider caravans found in Vvardenfell, the mainland also features river striders, large aquatic bugs that provide an alternative to boats, as well as a small number of functioning propylon locations.
Vvardenfell Changes and Additions[edit]
To facilitate access to the mainland, Tamriel Rebuilt adds new shipmasters to Vvardenfell. These are:
Origin | Shipmaster | Destinations | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dagon Fel | Ysmund White-Gale | Firewatch | Nivalis | ||
Ebonheart | Domiah | Old Ebonheart | Teyn | ||
Sadrith Mora | Anedhil | Firewatch | Helnim | Marog | |
Vivec | Gindrala Nethri | Andothren | Darvonis | Old Ebonheart | Sadrith Mora |
In addition, a Guild Guide named Ohmonir in Vivec's Guild of Mages can transport those of Conjurer rank or above to Firewatch and Old Ebonheart.
Mainland Travel Options[edit]
Boat[edit]
Boat transport is available to and from most major settlements near water. There are various types of seagoing transports, the most common being a large single-masted three-deck ship, or the smaller open boats found in the poorer settlements.
Boat services are available from the following settlements:
Origin | Shipmaster | Ship | Destinations |
---|---|---|---|
Mundrethi Plantation | Nol gro-Yalagrump | Unnamed rowboat | Oran Plantation |
Oran Plantation | Llehra Sarani | Unnamed rowboat | Mundrethi Plantation |
River Strider[edit]
These huge aquatic arthropods are bred and raised by the Telvanni to act as an alternative to boats. A large fungus is grafted to the top of their abdominal shell, living symbiotically with the animal; in that fungus a cabin for passengers is hollowed. The therionaut sits atop the creature's head, under a small overhang supported by the strider's antenna. The antenna are coated in a fungal infection which allows the therionaut to control the strider by manipulating them. Between the head and the abdomen, a thin thorax sports four long legs and two impressive wings. While the wings cannot be used for flight, the creature can use them as sails to gain speed.
Silt Strider[edit]
Colossal creatures resembling gigantic fleas, silt striders are domesticated to act as beasts of burden for long distance travel. The Sadas Plantation breeds silt striders, as well as netch and the relatively smaller plain striders. Outside of the transportation trade, striders are valued for their hardy chitin.
As of the 23.10 Andaram release in late 2022, the silt strider network on the mainland is divided into western and eastern portions, being bisected by the Thirr River.
Origin | Caravaner | Destinations | ||
---|---|---|---|---|
Andothren | Ervyna Saran | Hlan Oek | Menaan | Omaynis |
Arvud | Didilu-Edinu Belharranit | Hlan Oek | Menaan | |
Bodrum | Alvur Nirano | Omaynis | ||

Menaan | Gols Ulven | Andothren | Arvud | |
Omaynis | Galotha Sareloth | Andothren | Bodrum |
Guild Guide[edit]
The Mages Guild maintain a network of teleporters, the Guild Guides, adept mystics who can teleport other persons instantaneously to a well-known location. Guides in guildhalls offer their services to anyone who can afford them.
Most guild guides on the Mainland will only teleport you to guild halls under the jurisdiction of the same archmage. Some guild halls have a second guild guide however (currently Firewatch, Vivec and Old Ebonheart) that can teleport you further afield.
TR Travels[edit]
TR Travels was an optional plugin used to integrate Vvardenfell's transport options with the mainlands. It did this by changing some of the destinations that Vvardenfell shipmasters would take you to. The plugin was later converted to a blank esp, and the shipmasters returned to their vanilla options. New shipmasters were added instead as part of the main Tamriel Rebuilt .esp.
The below maps show the state of travel connections when TR Travels was enabled, in releases prior to 22.11.
