Talk:Eye of Argonia
General?[edit]
Shouldn't this be in the general namespace? It wasn't really a game, and I've never seen lone pages orphaned like this. Minor EditsThreats•Evidence 01:32, 16 February 2014 (GMT)
- Oblivion (PSP) and TES Travels are without a namespace also. Might be worth bringing both canceled games under General though. —Legoless (talk) 01:39, 16 February 2014 (GMT)
Logo[edit]
This was actually brought to my attention by this forum thread which alleged that the Argonia logo could be found in a TES4-era fansite kit officially published by Bethesda. Upon further investigation by LadyN (who was the one to remove it originally), it seems that this graphic was indeed officially released, and was first included on the CD for TES3. I've therefore restored the image along with an explanatory note establishing that it isn't actually confirmed to be a logo for this game. —Legoless (talk) 21:32, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
Mention in Tiber Septim's Sword-Meeting[edit]
There is a single mention of "the Eye" in this UOL text. I can't figure out what the context is, but someone else could take a stab at it. —Dillonn241 (talk) 04:09, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- I don't imagine anyone in the world understands the context of "Hist super-liner slip seed stalkstrum builtgrown wash branched out in snapthorn belly bass crawler phloematic thornplex virsliclk-ix-that’ls its thatls riggered out scale calyx critical sepals critical corolla critical stemens engage floodbogmud lignicore pasted drowned thing". I think it's something to do with a Hist spaceship following Cyrus and his crew. The character Thorpe was "there" before, whatever that means, and had briefly possessed the Eye.
- I don't really think it's notable, given that it is a throwaway mention basically without context. If anyone disagrees, we host that text on the wiki now, so feel free to cite it. I've added a link back to this page from there. —Legoless (talk) 16:04, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Hair-splitting[edit]
Just jotting down my thinking on why I removed a couple details; happy to discuss.
Being that there are no indications that Eye of Argonia was ever in active production, I felt the infobox was an ill fit—not being more than a design, it had no Developer or Release Date. The Release Date written on the page was "Canceled", but of course it wasn't started, let alone canceled. The Time Period written was the Second Era, but while it's a fairly safe bet, it never was established. (Yes, I am fun at parties...)
Secondly, I felt Noonan's declining to comment on the possibility of more spin-off games—so many years later—can't realistically be taken as a comment/lack of comment pertaining to the Eye of Argonia design that this article concerns.
The last one is backpedaling on something I'd put there myself, which was having the title of the thing as The Elder Scrolls Adventures 2: Eye of Argonia based on Kirkbride's list of the imagined trilogy, but on reflection that's hardly confirmation of any formal title. No matter the likelihood of the "Adventures" title, that didn't materialise and contemporary sources simply refer to the thing as Eye of Argonia, so I feel that's the most sensible thing to call it for the sake of this article. —Babebeforewolves (talk) 10:08, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
