Quest-Related Events[edit]
Vvardenfell[edit]
Talking to her before her related quest, she'll say: "I don't know how we're going to get all this done. I miss the days when I could just request another contingent of slaves."
Divine Conundrum[edit]
Speaking to her on the way to retrieve the Blessing Stone:
- "This project has been nothing but one disaster after another. How am I expected to get this ziggurat built on time when things constantly go wrong?
Don't mind me. I'm just having one of those days." - Archcanon Tarvus sent me. I need to borrow your Blessing Stone.
- "Our Blessing Stone? Do you know what happens if we give up our Blessing Stone? Well, neither do I, but I'm sure it won't put us back on schedule or end our string of disasters.
I'm not one to disagree with the Archcanon, but that's a terrible idea." - Lord Vivec needs a Blessing Stone to perform a ritual.
- "Lord Vivec? Why didn't you say so?
But I'll need your help before I can turn over the Blessing Stone. The passage that leads to the consecration chamber collapsed, trapping some of my workers. If you can clear the way, you can borrow the stone." - I'll clear the passage and free your workers on my way to retrieve the stone.
- "I appreciate the help. Just remember that you're only borrowing the stone. It needs to be back in the consecration chamber before the next shift or we'll never get this ziggurat constructed in time."
Talking to her immediately after this, she repeats your task: "Clear the passage and rescue my workers and you can borrow the Blessing Stone. Just let Lord Vivec know that we'll need it back to finish building this part of the city."
If you speak to her after taking the stone, she'll reluctantly say:
- "I see you've got the Blessing Stone. Look, I appreciate that you were able to aid my workers. And I understand that Lord Vivec has need of the stone. But I won't feel comfortable starting construction again until it's back in place."
Speaking to her after the quest has been completed:
- "Work is going well on the cantons, and thanks to those new Blessing Stones [sic] we should be finished ahead of schedule."
Divine Disaster[edit]
Inside the construction site, you'll hear the overseer and see her chasing after a looter:
- Overseer Shiralas: "Stand still, you damned looter!"
Catch up with her and you'll see her cut one down and say:
- Overseer Shiralas: "No one steals from Lord Vivec!"
Speak to her and she'll say:
- "Another looter? You want a taste of my steel, too?
No, wait—I remember you. You borrowed one of our Blessing Stones. Well, the Archcanon returned it after Lord Vivec was finished with it, so no need to fret about that." - Lord Vivec needs to borrow the Blessing Stone again.
- "That's impossible. We installed the Blessing Stone back in its canton and finished construction on that section a short time ago.
Wait a moment—does this have something to do with the chunks of rock raining down on the city?" - Let's just say it's vital that I get a Blessing Stone for Lord Vivec.
- "I suppose you're in luck, then. We happen to have another Blessing Stone. It's at the third canton. Here. This key will open the door to that portion of the construction site.
Just watch out for more looters—and the rocks falling out of the sky." - I met your wife. She's worried about you.
- "Varona? Was she still angry with me? No, you don't have to answer that. I know my wife. I'll head back and let her know I'm all right.
Tell Lord Vivec he can have our Blessing Stone—as long as he promises to do something about Baar Dau."
Speaking to her again:
- "Thanks again for the help. I want to collect some of the tools the looters tried to carry off before I leave.
I wonder why the Tribunal allows bad things to happen? You'd think Vivec could calm Red Mountain and send the moonlet back into the sky."
Divine Blessings[edit]
At the ceremony, Lord Vivec will call the overseer to receive her blessing:
- Vivec: "Overseer Shiralas, step forth!"
- Vivec: "Overseer Shiralas, you sacrificed your Blessing Stones to aid the Warrior-Poet. Well done! Take these recharged stones and finish building my city—after relaxing with your patient wife."
- Overseer Shiralas: "Thank you, Lord Vivec. I shall do as you ask."
Speak to her before leaving the ceremony and she'll tell you:
- "Me, among all these fine people! When I received Lord Vivec's summons, I didn't even change my clothes! I feel honored and embarrassed all at once!"
- Post-Quest
- "Red Mountain erupting caused major setbacks. Between the lost workers and the damaged stone, it will be years before everything is done."
- "Thank the Three! I'm grateful Varona wasn't harmed when Baar Dau dropped."
Murkmire[edit]
Lost in Murkmire[edit]
Overseer Shiralas can be encountered near Sweet Breeze Overlook. Her dialogue will differ depending on whether you have met her before as well completed the main storyline from the Morrowind Chapter.
If you have met her before, she will remember you and say:
- "Hey, I know you! You borrowed a Blessing Stone from my construction site in Vivec City! And stopped the moonlet from falling out of the sky!
Now I feel kind of embarrassed. My current problem isn't anywhere near as important as saving a Living God."
Otherwise she will instead say:
- "You there, are you familiar with the local terrain? If so, I could use your help.
My wife and I, we came to this godsforsaken land to get away from the clamor of Vivec City. But I fear my poor Varona may have gotten into a spot of trouble." - What seems to be the problem?
- "Varona and her beloved pet, Drooler, went for a walk in the swamp hours ago and they still haven't returned.
My wife can take care of herself, but she's as unfamiliar with this terrain as I am. I fear the worst may have happened." - Do you know if Varona had a destination in mind when she left?
- "Varona saw some ancient Argonian stonework out in the swamp. She loves to study the techniques of long-dead masons.
Use this whistle and Drooler should come running. If you pet him and tell him he's a good boy, he'll lead you directly to Varona." - I'll try to find Varona and Drooler.
You can then ask her additional questions:
- "Drooler loves that whistle. He comes running whenever we blow it.
I'm sure Varona just got caught up examining an interesting piece of carved stone, but I appreciate you going to check on her. I'll just wait here in case they return." - Tell me more about your pet, Drooler.
- "Drooler's our bantam guar. Cute little slobberer was a marriage gift, and he's been with us ever since. He's more attached to Varona than to me, truth be told, and she's trained him well.
Just blow the whistle and he'll come running."- What are you and Varona doing in Murkmire?
- "Varona constantly complains that we never take a vacation. So, when the opportunity presented itself, I set up this trip to visit Murkmire.
She was certainly surprised, but I get the feeling she was hoping for somewhere with a bit less mud."
- "Varona constantly complains that we never take a vacation. So, when the opportunity presented itself, I set up this trip to visit Murkmire.
- Why does Varona have an interest in ancient stonework?
- "We met on one of my construction sites. I was just an assistant overseer on that project and Varona was one of our stone masons. She's really good at her craft.
Whenever she gets the chance, she loves to learn new techniques for working stone."

- How are things back in Vivec City? (Option only appears if you have completed Divine Blessings)
- "Same as always, thanks to you. Baar Dau hangs peacefully above the city, Lord Vivec writes and sings in his palace, and our new archcanon has adapted well to his responsibilities.
In fact, things are so quiet that we decided to take this trip."
- "Same as always, thanks to you. Baar Dau hangs peacefully above the city, Lord Vivec writes and sings in his palace, and our new archcanon has adapted well to his responsibilities.
- What are you and Varona doing in Murkmire?
Once you have found Varona with the assistance of Drooler, you can find the three of them on the docks in Bright-Throat Village. If she is spoken to, she will thank you saying:
- "Varona made it back safely. And Drooler, too! Thanks for going into the swamp to find them. I really appreciate your help.
In the meantime, I'm going to pamper my wife and help her forget her ordeal. Nothing but the best for Varona!" - What will the two of you do now?
- "Complete our vacation, of course! But no more wandering around on our own. I'm not letting Varona out of my sight for the rest of this trip!
Then it's back to Vivec City. Those cantons aren't going to finish building themselves, you know."
Bugs[edit]
- After Vivec's ceremony is over, she can be seen performing the apple-holding animation, despite not actually having one in her hand. ?
