Quest-Related Events

He will be responsible for setting up the magic barrier in his grotto as part of the trial of the tourney Isobel is participating in. Once you disabled his barrier, you will find him inside his cottage. Speaking to him:

"Oh hello then. Figure out my barrier, did you? And is that little Izzy I see back there?"

Yes, I'm acting as her second. She said you used to know her as a child?

"Yes, yes, yes. I had hoped it would be her. She remembered the tale of Miriette la Courageuse, eh?
So nice you two could come out here. Usually it's just me and the forest spirits these days."

Would you mind if we took your staff?

"Of course not! Solve the puzzle, take the staff, that's the idea right?
It's out back, leaning against the cottage. Enjoy in good health, second!"

Thank you, Erlibru.

"Off you go, then. And be careful where you point that thing.
That staff's like me. It might be old, but it can still zap the ears off a rabbit if you aren't careful."

Were you hoping Isobel would complete your trial?

"Oh, no, no, no. That would be wildly inappropriate.
I pulled this challenge directly from the pages of one of my favorite books. Who can blame me? I'm a daffy old wizard. Hehe!"

Once you finish talking to him, he will call out for Isobel:

Isobel Veloise: "He said it's out back. Imagine being that casual about something so precious."

Erlibru: "Come here, lass. No need to dawdle near the door like you're still a squire."

Isobel Veloise: "Hahaha. Thank you, you old goat. Still thinking of me all these years later."

After grabbing the staff:

"Back so soon? You didn't drop the staff down the well, did you?"

After the Oaken Order trial is complete, he will revert to his normal dialogue below.

Erlibru will later appear at the knighting ceremony of Isobel:

"Of course, of course, I had to come and see the presentations. It's good to see my fellow Oaken Order members every once in a long while. And I had some turkey leg, you know.
Plus we'll get to see dear Izzy win the tourney, won't we?"
