Lore talk:Pelagius III
Reference[edit]
I think Pelagius Septim III is Based on The Roman Emperor Caligula. Both Insane beyond belief. 72.64.117.44 03:12, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have found that it is more likely his (Pelagius) title is based off the King George III of England. The Book Madness of Pelagius is almost a complete reference to the title of the famous play The Madness of George III

- This is an obvious reference, and as such an Easter Egg. The problem is, as the book first appeared in Daggerfall, and Daggerfall does not have an Easter Eggs page, where should it go? Would it be time to make one? —MortenOSlash (talk) 16:36, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

- Yes, a number of references and eggs, both clear and logically unsound have been removed from various lore, Daggerfall, and some Arena pages. I'm sure the internet could rustle up a few more to expand the page beyond having one so far. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 16:46, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Pelagius' Amulet[edit]
According to the book The Wolf Queen, v8, Potema gave her mother's amulet, now a cursed amulet that would eventually turn its wearer mad to Pelagius. Should we include this? — Unsigned comment by 124.168.31.114 (talk) at 08:05 on 18 July 2012
- It's already there, sort of. 90.206.126.107 11:24, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Death Outlawed[edit]
Sheogorath in Skyrim mentions that upon his deathbed Pelagius forbade death. Should this be mentioned? — Unsigned comment by 122.62.148.13 (talk) at 20:56 on 23 November 2012
- Sure. Minor EditsThreats•Evidence 22:01, 23 November 2012 (GMT)
Mother?[edit]
I understand there is some confusion regarding Pelagius's mother (whether it was Hellena or Utheilla, an Altmer woman). Either way, I think this should be noted on his page, being an important part of who he was. Perhaps it should say that between Madness of Pelagius and Wolf Queen its unclear who his true mother was. Also, he had a sister Jolethe with no mention on the page, though she doesn't seem quite as important to note. Any thoughts? I figure its worth it to add.--Auburn (talk) 21:27, 6 January 2014 (GMT)

Race[edit]
Skyrim depicts him as a Breton, but Hellena is described as a "Cyrodiil", ie: Imperial, which should also make Pelagius an Imperial. Additionally, the woman rumoured to instead be his mother, Utheilla, was a Direnni, which could indeed make him a Breton. At any rate, I don't think a race is definitive and should more appropriately be changed to "Man" pointing to a note referencing this. --Rezalon (talk) 19:15, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Since in lore things dont need to follow Racial Phylogeny, a book proved wrong way way more often than not, he could inherit his father's race just fine. That said from what I know his parentage (and races of those (potential) parents is also rather murky. Also Skyrim isn't always reliable when it comes to races.Tyrvarion (talk) 20:18, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

- There are other instances of father race-inheritance other than Pelagius: Tobias, Virkmund, and Mairead. There's nothing to suggest that Skyrim's race is wrong, so I firmly oppose this suggestion. Mindtrait0r (talk) 20:42, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
