Moonlit Cove is an ancient Khajiiti temple found on the azure beaches of the Quin'rawl Peninsula, in the province of Elsweyr. It is known for its luminous caverns that contains a plethora of exotic flora and fauna, the likes of which leave naturalists in awe of its glory.[1] The moonlight and the waters from the Southern Sea and Topal Bay are harnessed and blended together into the cove to achieve the serene and calm ambiance of the night sky, blocking out the harsh sunlight from outside. Many people come to the temple to soak in the blessed sugar waters and its shrines to soothe their mind, body, and soul.[2]

History[edit]

The Moonlit Cove was built countless years ago at an unspecified time. It is known to contain a variety of creatures and plants that cannot be found anywhere else, such as the Moon-Kissed Swamp Jellies or the Prune Morel Mushrooms. When the Khajiiti Hero, Khunzar-ri was killed in the Merethic Era by the Betrayer, he was buried in an isolated tomb deep in the confines of the Moonlit Cove.[3][4]

In 2E 582, the bandit pride called the Ruddy Fangs took control of the Moonlit Cove and established a strong skooma operation throughout the temple. In their hubris, they tainted the sacred waters and sought to use the sacred moon sugar in the shoals of the water to make their product. The leader of the operation was the Pahmar-raht bandit lord, Bahzahar the Bull, who believed that the blessed waters could make a more potent stock of sugar.[5] Several labs and distilleries were built in the caves and ruins, all of which were overseen by the bruiser called the Tigershark. Anyone that drank from his skooma were known to turn feral and dangerous.[6] This skooma operation started to fall apart when Bahzahar was killed in a skirmish with the then reforming Dragonguard[7] and the waters were purged by an adventurer.[8]

A member of the Dragonguard traveled to the Moonlit Cove and entered the tomb of Khunzar-ri, where they communed with his spirit. From there, they acquired his claw and used it to walk the Jodelight Path to the floating island of Dragonhold.[9]
