Alt Orethan

Alt Orethan is a region in the Mournhold District of Morrowind. It is the rocky scrubland between the city of Almalexia and the Lan Orethan forest.

Its largest settlement is Almalexia (Meralag for the released area). Alt Orethan borders Aanthirin to the west, Sundered Scar to the north, the Mephalan Vales to the northeast, Lan Orethan to the east, and the Deshaan Plains to the south.

Only the area north and east of Almalexia is officially released, approximately a third of the entire region.

• Harrumat Mine — A diamond mine located in the Alt Orethan region, containing a secret shrine.
• Hassat-Nirram Egg Mine — An egg mine located in the Alt Orethan region.
• Thalotheran Quarry — An open-cast gold mine, owned by Eretheri Thalotheran of Great House Indoril.
• Yanimmu Mine — An iron mine located in the Alt Orethan region.

Tombs

• Gilnyth Ancestral Tomb — A tomb in the Alt Orethan region, containing multiple magical trinkets.
• Lloram Ancestral Tomb — A tomb in the Alt Orethan region, north of Meralag and southeast of Darvonis.
• Thelvil Ancestral Tomb — A tomb in the Alt Orethan region.

Velothi Towers

• Tiranshiha — A Velothi tower north of Meralag. It is inhabited by escaped Khajiit slaves who are suspicious of outsiders. The top floor contains a locked cell, with a posed Khajiit skeleton bearing slave bracers behind several veils. Several Vaba Maaszi Lhajiito scrolls are littered around the tower.
